Road Traffic Collision - make safe
The Fire Service were called to reports of a road traffic collision.  One appliance from Wellington was mobilised to this incident. Upon arrival crews confirmed all persons were out of the vehicle and crews made the vehicle safe.

Vehicle Fire
One fire appliance from Taunton attended a small fire in the engine compartment of a car. The fire was put out by fire crews using one hose reel jet. Damage was confined to the engine bay, ignition was accidental.

RTC Person Trapped
One fire appliance from Street, one from Glastonbury and the rescue tender from Glastonbury attended an RTC where one car had gone into a wall causing the driver to be trapped inside. Crews arrived on scene and got to work setting up equipment to remove the roof of the car. Crews successfully extricated the casualty and was transferred to the air ambulance. Duty of care was left with the Police.

One fire appliance from Taunton attended an RTC where one car had gone into a bollard. There were no persons trapped. Crews made the vehicle safe and dealt with an oil leak. Crews handed duty of care to the Police.

One fire fighting appliance from Wellington Fire Station attended reports of chimney fire at Castle Park, Hemyock near Cullompton. Upon arrival, crews found one chimney fire, crews used small tools and chimney gear from hearth to extinguish the fire. These are the final details

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Services 20 Latest Incidents in the Central Area

Fire - Building
Two fire appliances from Barnstaple were mobilised to a fire in the ground floor of a terraced property. On arrival crews confirmed smoke was issuing and entered the property wearing breathing apparatus and with one hose reel jet. Crews put the fire out and then ventilated the property. Four breathing apparatus sets, one hose reel jet, one short extension ladder, a thermal imaging camera and positive pressure ventilation were used. The property was moderately damaged, and the cause was accidental.

One fire appliance from Axminster and one from Colyton attended an RTC involving two vehicles. On arrival, crews confirmed there were no persons trapped, but one person was receiving medical treatment. Crews made the vehicles safe, and duty of care was left with the Police.

One fire appliance from Honiton and one from Ottery St Mary attended a report of a kitchen fire. Crews arrived on scene and confirmed a small fire within a ground floor kitchen. Crews donned breathing apparatus, and put the fire out with one dry powder extinguisher. The cause of the fire was accidental. The building was heavily smoke logged, so crews ventilated.

Two fire appliances from Okehampton attended a barn on fire. On arrival, crews confirmed one ton of straw removed to open ground by the farmer, and began damping down. The cause of the fire was accidental. The straw was damaged by the fire.
